Tickets: $10 general / $9 students or seniors
Burt Reynolds brought his charming, suave and irresistible persona to these throughly enjoyable and memorable comedy action films. Smokey and the Bandit, with Sally Field, heavyweight Jacky Gleason and Jerry Reed, who contributes the catchy theme song, followed by Stroker Ace, pairing Reynolds with future spouse Loni Anderson, with supporting roles by Ned Beatty and Jim Nabors. Former stuntman and race driver Hal Needham directed both films allowing the brilliant casts to shine, even the vehicles, who speed and crash during the complex chase sequences with virtuous comedic timing. We like them, we really, really like them!

Smokey and the Bandit (1977)
Directed by Hal Needham
Film Trailer

M. Hart (audience reviewer)

"1977 was a landmark year in film with such film releases as "Annie Hall", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "The Goodbye Girl", "Star Wars" and one of Burt Reynolds' best known films, "Smokey and the Bandit". Under the direction of Hal Needham (who also co-wrote the film's story), Burt Reynolds plays a legendary truck driver named Bo 'Bandit' Darville, who is challenged to drive round-trip between Georgia and Texarkana, Texas to bring back 400 cases of beer within 28 hours. ... With its wild chase scenes, endless humor (much of it slapstick) and believable acting, most viewers to this day are kept fully engaged and laughing throughout the film's 96 minutes.
